Terms of Business

The basis on which QH Accountants Ltd provides accountancy and tax services, together with the terms of use for this website.

Template notice: these terms are a drafting starting point. Have them reviewed by your professional body or a solicitor, and align them with the engagement letter you issue to clients, before publishing.

1. About us

QH Accountants Ltd is registered in England & Wales and provides accountancy, taxation, payroll and advisory services. Our contact details are on the contact page.

2. Engagement

Nothing on this website creates a contract between us. Work begins only once we have issued an engagement letter setting out the services, the fee and the responsibilities of each party, and you have accepted it. Where these terms and the engagement letter differ, the engagement letter takes precedence.

3. Fees

  • Fees are fixed and agreed in writing before work commences. Prices shown on this website are indicative and exclude VAT.
  • Where the scope of work changes materially, we will agree any revised fee with you before continuing.
  • Invoices are payable within 14 days unless agreed otherwise. Overdue accounts may be subject to statutory interest.

4. Your responsibilities

You remain legally responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information you provide, and for the returns and accounts filed in your name. We rely on the records and explanations you give us and, unless separately engaged to do so, we do not audit or independently verify them. Please give us complete records in good time — we cannot be responsible for penalties arising from late or incomplete information.

5. Our responsibilities

We will act with reasonable care and skill, in accordance with the standards of our professional body and applicable law. We will keep your affairs confidential except where disclosure is required by law or by our regulators.

6. Anti-money laundering

We are required by the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 to verify the identity of our clients and, in certain circumstances, to make reports to the National Crime Agency. We are prohibited by law from telling you if such a report has been made.

7. Limitation of liability

Our liability for any claim arising from our work is limited to the amount stated in the relevant engagement letter. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Ending the engagement

Either party may end the engagement by giving one month’s written notice. Fees for work carried out up to that date remain payable. On request we will provide your records and cooperate promptly with any incoming accountant.

9. Website terms

  • The content of this website is general information, not advice for your specific circumstances, and should not be relied upon as such.
  • Tax rules and thresholds change. We keep this site current as far as we reasonably can, but no warranty is given that every figure reflects the latest position.
  • All content, branding and design on this site remain our property or that of our licensors.
  • Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.

10. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please tell us at hello@qhaccountants.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and set out how and when we will respond. If we cannot resolve it, you may be able to refer the matter to our professional body.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
